To read most of thse posts one would think there is no marital infidelity in US except for high ranking politicians. Only here, do we forgive hypocricy and deceit when it comes to public policy but not what are private matters between husbands and wives. I for one am not getting so worked up about a four day absence over a weekend of a governor — admittedly he chose a bad weekend. Let also remember neither left nor right has a monopoly on this kind of stuff. As I recall, the now close to deified Teddy Kennedy never mind his two brothers spent quite a lot of time with women other than their wives. Frankly the Europeans are much smarter about this stuff.

Sounds like he fell in love with someone after twenty years of marriage — what a surprise, Hopefully, his wife’s holy roller press statement is not a true indication of the way she is in real life, but maybe it is.

We are are now treating politics as if it was the same as the trash reality shows that everyone is so addicted to — but voyeurism and moral superiority is so much fun.

However, I am interested in who had access to and is leaking the governor’s private emails. As David Corn points out in Mother Jones whoever had access to them could have put them to criminal use. Seems a farily serious break of security. Remember the great brouhaha over the Palin emails, but so far none here. Why doesn’t one of the journalists who are “covering” this story do some work.
